Preschool Assistant Director

Department: Family Care Kids Early Development and Learning Center
Location: Phoenix, AZ

Family Care KIDS, a ministry of Christian Family Care, is looking to hire a full-time Assistant Director for the preschool. Are you looking for purpose in your work? This position pays a competitive salary of $22.00 - 25.00 per hour and provides a flexible benefits package which can include health insurance, disability insurance, paid child tuition, paid vacation and holiday, and retirement plan.

The Preschool Assistant Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the preschool. This involves assisting the director in creating and maintaining a positive learning environment for all families enrolled and operating the center in accordance with policies, procedures, and state licensing standards to provide an educational, nurturing, and safe environment for children, staff, and parents. This also involves implementing the strategic plan, policies, budget allocations and directives formulated by the Preschool Director. Note that this position will be primarily responsible for opening the school each operating day, thus any eligible candidate will have weekday availability starting at 7:00-7:30am.

Some duties include:

  • Management - Implement and manage ongoing improvements in classrooms by observing, documenting and reporting to leadership. Work in partnership with Director to complete bi-monthly teacher/classroom observations and provide detailed documentation. Provide direction and oversight of teachers in partnership with Director.
  • Administrative - Fulfill all record-keeping responsibilities such as child registrations, records, rosters, and emergency information as required for AZ. Dept. of Health Services, Child Care Licensing. Create and maintain medical consent process for applicable children enrolled.
  • Relational - Maintain Christ-like relationships with families, children, volunteers and staff with an attitude and atmosphere of Holy living. Report to the director in a timely manner any unresolved difficulties that have arisen in the classroom or school whether they be with a child, a parent, teachers, or with co-workers.
